Didn't I just post yesterday?

Yikes, it has been a while. . .what have we been up to? Lots of good times just hanging out with friends, exercising our kind-of-green thumbs, sharing many joys and laughs with the special people in our lives, blowing out birthday candles, and anticipating wonderful company in August.

David is working as a fellow now, and we are officially STAYING IN NORTH CAROLINA, as he has signed a contract with a local radiology group! I suddenly feel like giving all my sweaters and long underwear away for good.  Of course, decisions made make more decisions, but we are trying to bask in the glow of knowing that we are HERE, and no more decisions need to be made in any hasty fashion (in other words, our next house will not have to be found and purchased in less than 3 days!).  David also had a birthday a few weeks ago, and we celebrated at Nana's in Durham. If you have never had the tasting menu at Nana's, put it on your 'to-do' list and wear elastic. Phenomenal. Apparantly there is a wine tasting menu that goes along with, but we were pretty sure we wouldn't have found our way home after that.

Gavin lives under water these days. We are still looking for his gills. His favorite trick is either doing somersaults in the water or swimming to the bottom to fetch rings. He also does a mean cannonball. The countdown has begun. . .kindergarden begins August 19th. . .enough said.

Merritt is walking. . .and getting in all sorts of trouble!!!!!!! Let's just say he has played in the toilet twice this week, and the second time it had not been flushed (after all, if it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down, thank you God). Sigh.

Yesterday I celebrated a lovely birthday. All the great people in my life who make every day special went out of their way to make yesterday even more special for me than usual, and it was probably my best birthday ever. Not to mention, my fantastic husband set his alarm for 5:45am to make me breakfast in bed, and then he and the boys SHOCKED me with a brand new CAMERA! A Nikon D-40!!!!! I cried, I was so happy. :)
