Friday was Gavin's Grandparents and Special Friends Day at his school. It is quite the big deal, and they practiced much of the year to put on 'The Best of DA presents the Best of Broadway'. Seven decades of showtunes - very entertaining! The kids did great!
Because it was quite the formal affair, he got to wear his best duds. Here he is before leaving for school. . .
Here is Gavin and Alison, who is his very special friend (thank you for saving the day, Alison!!). He was so proud to give her a tour around his classroom and have her there.
Here is Gavin posing with his FABULOUS teachers, whom we adore. I cannot believe kindergarten is almost over. . .
Because Gavin has so many special friends in his life, we were able to enjoy a Chik-Fil-A lunch afterwards with Gina, Asher, Alison, Joshua, and Merritt, THEN it was off to NC State to get a tour of the animals with another very special friend, Brenda! He got to see the inside of the vet school, including many great skeletons, like this elephant, which he was especially excited about because it is part of the Fab 5 of Africa that his class is studying.

And after touring the inside, we headed outside to see the large animals, including cows, goats, horses, sheep, pig, and the tiniest little baby goat I have ever seen (just born the day before!!). Here is Gav, sporting shoe covers on his feet, and a modified one on his head. It was raining, after all!
