Busy weekend!

David went home to Michigan for a few days last week. The boys and I hung in there and made plans for our busy Halloween week. I don't think David got much rest after he returned. . .

Thursday was Gavin's Halloween Parade at school. We went and ran around like paparazzi, trying to catch a photo of our little pirate. Here he is with his teacher.

After school we swung by a local farm and bought pumpkins. . .and I left the gutting and carving up to Daddy and the boys.

Friday night was our annual Halloween party. This tradition started a few years ago, inviting friends in for some snacks on Halloween, and it has grown into a Monster Movie Bash, complete with lots of goodies and a screening of 'Monsters vs. Aliens' on the side of the house.
So fun!

Here are some of the spooks that night!
Our outdoor theater!

So of course, Saturday was the REAL Halloween, and of course there was Trick or Treating to be done! Merritt, ahem, the Dragon, wasn't too into pictures. He just preferred to splash in the puddles.
But we did get the cul-de-sac characters to pose, briefly. . .
. . .and the boys did ham it up a bit in front of the house before roaming the neighborhood in search of candy!

On Sunday, we hosted a cul-de-sac baby shower for John, Alison, and Joshua, as they await the arrival of baby Caleb. Here is the gang that Caleb is going to meet real soon!

They are a sweet family and we cannot wait to get our hands on Caleb! (and my camera!)

The night was full of good food, conversation, and sweet gifts!
