cows and polar bears

That's what Merritt excitedly said he was going to see when I told him last night that Brenda was going to take us to see the farm animals at NC State. We didn't see any polar bears (probably due to the oppressive heat), but we saw many cows, horses, geese (and a gosling!), sheep, and goats. And tractors. I honestly think Merritt was overwhelmed being in the presence of real large animals. He didn't let go of my hand much and fretted whenever Gav would go near the fence. We almost got him to touch a goat.

A horse peeked at him, but Merritt kept his distance.

Gav was, as usual, much braver! We had to keep reminding him to not touch the elecric fence!

Hey cows. Merritt's quote of the day (randomly, before we even went to see the animals), "Cows poop and pee and toot, too!." Here he is witnessing proof of this revelation.

Donning foot covers to protect. . .the animals? Our shoes? Their hair?
