Mid-week, we decided to ditch our bathing suits for a few hours and play tourist. We drove down the Outer Banks to Kill Devil Hills and checked out the Wright Brothers Memorial. I think the world's friendliest rangers work there, for real. The kids had a great time recreating the first flight, and us adults even thought it was pretty cool to walk the path of Orville and Wilbur's first few journeys through the air! Another highlight - overhearing a tourist gathering her family to get their picture taken with the statue of "Orville Redenbacher". Oh dear.
