Our family just returned from a spectacular stay on the Outer Banks with friends and family. Here is a quick summary of a trip that was too fun and wonderful to effectively put into words:
We ate gourmet at a table for 9, sometimes 10, sometimes 11, and sometimes 15! We soaked up a lot of sun, and attempted to bring half the sand from the beach back to the house with us, every day (thank goodness for outdoor showers!!). The kids enjoyed ruling our own private pool, and Ian ingested way more sand than I care to admit (but he is really good at building sandcastles in his diaper. . .). A morning trip to Kitty Hawk proved photogenic and educational (that will have to be another post. . .it's hard to whittle over 700 pictures down!). Wild ponies, hundreds of sea shells, Arlo the master crabber, and water cold enough to numb your legs. Boogie boarding, running on the beach, discovering the joy of tidal pools, and playing pirate. Arrrr - the beach life is for me!
