no school!

Today we did not have school...unsure why...but we filled our day with outdoor activities despite the clouds of pollen floating around and coating everything. This morning we met friends at the Museum of Life and Science. Always a good time, but an even better time before all the school groups get there!!
Here the kids are trying to coax butterflies to land on their fingers. They had no success, as they stood this still about long enough for me to snap this picture. Ian preferred the contact sport version, running after butterflies.
Merritt and Kate, sharing a snack.
Getting ready for a train ride!
 Sweet Joel!
Crazy optical illusion involving train and mirror...
This picture makes me question my children's survival instincts.
What it looks like to be at the museum with 5 children...
Check out this girl hitting on Gavin. I have no idea who she is, but I don't think she is his type.

Oh boy, in 10 years we may not think this is so cute, but these two are so adorable together!

 Shark tooth find!
Don't forget Ian's treasure!
It's always easier to fill up a day off from school with good friends!
