Ian celebrated his 5th birthday while we were in Michigan! We decided to have a birthday trip to the Potter Park Zoo in Lansing, MI a few days before his actual big day, so he could celebrate with his cousins and do something special since we were so far from home.
Seeing the black rhino was certainly a highlight of the day.
We also had a great time chillin' in the parakeet enclosure.
Watch out for crazy bird man.
Another highlight was riding Joshua the Camel!
He (the camel!) even smiled for the picture.
We ended up at a little park in East Lansing for a picnic lunch...
…and an ice cold Coke was definitely a birthday treat!
Afterwards, we headed back to the farm for the minion piñata. Ian insisted on the minion piñata.
I love how I can see the same expression on Gavin and Ian's face...
On Ian's actual birthday, he awoke to a beautiful day on the farm. At his request, we rode behind the tractor (those pictures will be in another post), shot BB guns (he is a 5 year old boy, after all!), and made a strawberry cake with electric blue frosting.
Brothers. Would someone please tell them to stop growing?!
For his birthday meal, he got to try venison! He loved it!
Happy Birthday Bean! We love you so much!
