Happy Birthday Merritt!

6 years ago today, Merritt entered our lives. What, didn't you know that David birthed him?

Ah, here is a better picture. 5 days after he was born, he was already hanging out at the pool. That's how we roll here in hot and humid NC. Pop the babies out and grab the pool bag.

And here is our little man today. He got to choose his birthday meal, which is turning out to be a fun little birthday tradition in our house. He chose salmon on the grill, orange and red beets, and pasta & mozzarella salad. We threw in a little tabouli and grilled squash as well. Yum! Earlier today we went to see Monsters University and then went to the pool.

And tonight...the cousins arrived! He waited for them to arrive to open his presents.

We may have had a temporary lapse of judgement, but we bought him a slingshot and a bag of lima beans. He was, of course, thrilled.
