A couple weekends ago (although it feels like an eternity ago by now!) we drove up to Williamsburg for a couple days. We spent a whole day at Historical Williamsburg, exploring and learning and renewing our thankfulness for electricity. And heat. And modern medicine. And grocery stores. The list goes on and on, really.
Here, the boys are helping in the garden, hauling water.
What DOES NOT belong in this picture?
I will give you one guess.
And yes, it made us giggle every time we saw it.
Kind of Harry Potter meets colonial days, don't you think?
Training for battle.
Looking out the same jail cells that Blackbeard's men sat in.
Kind of creepy, but awesome at the same time.
My boys.
Awkward family photo, anyone?
Being recruited. The poor soldier behind Ian may have suffered a bit from Ian's 'gun'.
Oh! The real reason we went to Williamsburg! Gavin had a lacrosse tournament that Sunday. It was a beautiful warm, sunny day and was filled with a lot of great lacrosse!
See him below, with the red gloves? We were super proud of how he played.
And we were also glad that these boys hang in there so well during these long tournament days. They have a great time getting grubby, playing with other siblings, and cheering on the Cannons.
