Today was Gavin's first YMCA basketball game. In fact, today was the first organized team sports game he has ever played! What a great time - the boys were full of enthusiasm and Gavin had a great attitude. And, everyone did a lot of running! I was surprised at how 'team like' they really played for 5 and 6 year olds.

My friend described Gav as 'scrappy'. He can get the ball, despite the fact that the other player may be twice his size. 'Fearless' would be a good term, too.

Ignore the scoreboard - both teams actually did score some baskets. There is very little emphasis on the score and winning at this age. Kind of refreshing. . .
