memories of Michigan

Since school has started, it feels as though someone has pressed the fast forward button. Suddenly, the blog is behind and time is racing forward, but we have lots of Michigan pictures to share before we are sharing sports shots and school updates (and Holidays, because we all know they will be here before you know it!).

Like this one of Merritt, who was finder of all things living (sorry, all things living). This unfortunate toad was one of them. Although, I should mention that Merritt and cousin Teryn had a special knack at finding bones, too. By the end of the week, we probably could have pieced together an entire herd of something.

We got to enjoy a wonderful meal with Mark, Tracey, and Ashley. And Uncle Mark told them to climb onto the top of the minivan, by the way.

Oh yes, here is another living creature that Merritt found on the lane and brought to me. David and I were having a 'discussion' about my concerns that Merritt would probably pick up just about anything he found in the fields. David was dismissing my concerns, and little Merritt rounded the corner, smile from ear to ear, holding this baby bird.
Mommy - 1, Daddy - 0.

The cousins borrowed one of Grandpa's nests and put the bird in it, high up in a tree. Amazingly (?), the bird was gone a few hours later...unsure of the final outcome but oh boy were these guys delighted that they 'saved' the bird.

Here is Grandma blow-drying a minion's hair. You know, typical vacation on the farm stuff.

Setting up camp on the farm.

Delaney and Gav in their cool old tent.

Don't see the kids? They are probably up high in these apple trees, feasting on green apples, which they did the entire week. Iron stomachs.

Do you think Ian was here?
