Guppy

Gavin finished his Polliwog YMCA swim lesson status, and I was able to get him, last-minute, into the next level, the Guppy level. The guppy level is definately more of a challenge, and I suspect he might be a guppy for a

while. . .but just look at the size of the other kids in his class! It is fun to watch him learn and try to keep up, all the while exhibiting that great Gav confidence that usually drives me crazy unless it involves sports, and then I find it pretty endearing.

Yesterday they taught the kids to dive. He was thrilled. Today I captured his effort on film (obviously Merritt was not with me, or else I would have been supervising the endless 'umping' Merritt likes to do off the side).

The swim cap keeps the surfer hair out of his face, therefore aiding in his efforts at rotary breathing!
